Anyone who will be working in the wind industry that may need to perform advanced rescue or lead an advanced rescue operation

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will give delegates the skills, knowledge and confidence to perform rescue operations in a wind turbine using industry rescue equipment, methods and techniques which exceeds the GWO working at height.

AT THE END OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO

• Perform rescue operations in a wind turbine:
  • Hub, Spinner and inside a Blade
  • Nacelle, tower and basement
  • As a single rescuer

• Perform rescue operations using safe and suitable (certified or structural) anchor points, lifting angles, deviation, and edge protection for the rescue equipment
• Perform rescue operations using an injured person personal fall protection equipment backup system, when required.
• Perform rescue operations in poor lighting and enclosed space

CERTIFICATION

After successfully completing this course you will be issued a GWO Advanced rescue certificate valid for 2 years and uploaded onto your WINDA account.

Anyone who will be working in the wind industry that wishes to continue and build on the knowledge and skills from the Nacelle, tower and basement and Hub, spinner and inside blade training and refresh their GWO working at height and Manual Handling.

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will give delegates the skills, knowledge and confidence to perform casualty rescue operations in a wind turbine nacelle, tower and basement and Hub, spinner and inside blade by using industry rescue equipment, methods and techniques which exceeds the GWO working at height.

AT THE END OF THIS COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

• Perform rescue operations in a wind turbine nacelle, tower and basement and Hub, Spinner and inside blade by using industry rescue stretcher/spine board and manual and power-driven lowering /raising equipment, methods and techniques to include packaging the casualty, carrying out regular checks whilst being aware of risks and hazards
• Apply rescue methods and techniques for ascending and descending rescue operations
• Perform rescue operations, in a WTG nacelle, tower and basement using suitable anchor points, lifting angles and deviations assessing and determining an evacuation strategy during rescue.
• Perform rescue operations as a rescuer and a coordinator applying clear communication and recognising hazards.

CERTIFICATE

At the end of this course, you will gain GWO ART-Hub Refresher, GWO ART-Nacelle Refresher, GWO Working at Height Refresher and GWO Manual Handling Refresher certificates which will be uploaded on to your WINDA account, valid for 2 years
